Bulembu, Swaziland, January 2012
Bulembu is a small disused mining town on the Swaziland/South African border, acquired with the purpose of rebuilding into a self-sustaining community to look after vulnerable and orphaned children. Currently there are approximately 1,000 inhabitants (150 orphans). The Steppin' Out team, consisting mostly of musicians from various churches in the Cape Town region, visited Bulembu for 10 days and spent a week working with members of the community with the goal of putting on several large worship concerts on the final weekend. The aim was to encourage people in their giftings (from 200 children playing percussion to a community choir involving anyone with a desire to be a part thereof) whilst at the same time unifying different parts and churches of the community.
Eastern Cape, South Africa, June 2010
Jason and Brenda, together with a small team, held an outreach in the small rural village of Majija in the Eastern Cape, approximately 70 kilometres from Mthatha.
The team led praise and worship, preached the word, prophesied and ministered to the sick and oppressed, visiting some in their homes, as led by the Holy Spirit.
People walked from far and wide to have their needs met and the team were privileged to witness many salvations (including one sangoma / witch doctor), healings and other answers to prayer. The church has continued to grow since the team left and are reporting salvations daily.
To God be the glory!
